Katowice Airport
The Katowice International Airport is situated at the north of the agglomeration of Upper Silesia.
The airport was established in 1940 by the German army and until the October 1966 wasn’t available for passenger traffic. The first passenger terminal was built in 1969 and modernised in 1994. Recently there is also a Terminal B (handling Schengen flights) officially put into operation in July 2007.

How to get to the airport:
The airport is situated 30 km north of the Katowice city centre. The access to the airport is by car, taxi or by bus:
* taking a S86 express road that leads to the airport (car);
* hourly bus service between Katowice city centre ( Main Railway Station, Qubus Hotel Katowice, Novotel Katowice and in Sosnowiec) and the airport.
